Description

We are living in a constantly changing world and the way we do research should reflect its changing nature. Volatile political situations around the world cause various kinds of crises, especially those related to immigrants, emigrants, and refugees. The ongoing pandemic situation, despite improving, has significantly impacted how we communicate, how we affiliate and bond as well as how we make sense of the goings-on surrounding us.

Within these contexts, SFLIG 2023 aims to bring together scholars, researchers, academics, practitioners, and PhD students around the globe to this important forum to discuss their research, teaching, and meaning-making practices in relation to the application and advancement of Systemic Functional Linguistics (SFL). We, therefore, invite contributions applying the overarching theoretical framework of SFL in various global contexts to be presented at our conference. Successful full papers will be published in a special issue for Linguistics and the Human Sciences or in an edited book.
