Description
In my role as Assistant Programme Leader for the BA (Hons) in Language and Professional Communication (Digital Media) (LDM), I have contributed to both the academic and promotional dimensions of the programme during the review period. My responsibilities and activities can be summarised as follows.Enrolment
The 2025/26 cohort recorded 29 full-time enrolments (23 admitted via the September 2025 intake; 6 via the January 2026 intake) and 9 part-time enrolments (8 in September 2025; 1 in January 2026), giving a combined cohort of 38 students across the two modes of study.
Academic advising and student support
I have offered academic and career-related advising to programme students, with attention to course selection, internship considerations, and professional development planning. The aim has been to support students in navigating their studies in ways that reflect both their academic progress and their longer-term aspirations.
Graduate outcomes and follow-up
I have assisted with follow-up on the Graduate Employment Survey, contributing to data collection and the interpretation of outcomes.
Admissions interviews
I have conducted admission interviews to help assess applicant suitability and academic potential, with the aim of supporting recruitment decisions consistent with the programme's academic expectations and ethos.
Programme promotion and external engagement
I have contributed to the programme's external visibility through several channels during the review period. In particular, I:
-Served as featured speaker for the four-episode programme series 《大人物SPEEDChat – 學以致用 職創高峰》, broadcast on Metro Broadcast's digital platforms, introducing PolyU SPEED's programmes to wider audiences.
Conceptualised the central theme ("The Power of Storytelling in the Digital Age") and three content pillars for the LDM promotional video.
-Served as speaker for a live-streamed programme promotion talk with 港雋 in October 2025, oriented towards Mainland prospective students, with viewership exceeding one thousand during the broadcast.
Coordinated the 21st Century Cup English Speaking Competition (organised by VDO English, China Daily) at the school level, including event promotion, a preparatory workshop, and consultation on selection. I trained and recommended one LDM student, who subsequently received the Second Prize Certificate.
-Served as speaker at a secondary school promotion talk in January 2026.
Contributed to the management of the Division's Instagram page, which has been used to highlight student achievements, course content, and programme updates.
Industry engagement
I have continued to support the programme's external engagement by assisting in the organisation of industry talks and external speaker sessions, which provide students with exposure to professionals working in digital media and adjacent communication fields.
Institutional events and outreach
I have participated in CPCE Information Day, Admission Day, and the CPCE Carnival, where I assisted in introducing the LDM programme to prospective students and parents, contributing to broader public familiarity with the programme's positioning within the digital media and language education landscape.
