This course dealt with the basic principles of good language assessment. It provided an overview of the different types of test used for different purposes. Articles and video input covered practical techniques for assessing skills – speaking, listening, reading and writing – and language knowledge – grammar and vocabulary. Through guided discussion, participants explored how to develop tests within their own classroom context, with a view to making a positive impact on teaching and learning.
