Chaired the forum「傳統行業 X 現代設計」座談:當白鐵師傅走進設計院校(“Traditional handicraft x contemporary design” forum: When a zinc artisan gets into a design school). This forum is one in a series in the「工藝乜料(What’s great about craft?)」exhibition held in the HK PolyU School of Design (SD) co-organized by the St James' Settlement (SJS) and Community Classroom and SD. The subject sought to let students to appreciate, learn and document the declining craft of galvanized iron (aka zinc) before it is forgotten in HK, covering the craft’s history in HK, some of the local masters in the field, its core skills, tools, and terminologies, the recognition of the artisans, as well as asking the students to design new innovative products based on the crafts learned, exploring new development and markets for the handicraft.
