Organisation profile

College of Professional and Continuing Education (CPCE) was founded in 2002 as a self-financed college of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). CPCE oversees the day-to-day operation and development of its two educational units, namely Hong Kong Community College (HKCC) and School of Professional Education and Executive Development (SPEED). CPCE aims at fostering synergy between the two units in the provision of quality education.

CPCE’s vision is to be a leading self-financing tertiary education institution in Hong Kong.   With a mission to offer high quality tertiary education to learners at different stages of their studies/ career, CPCE offers education pathways with multiple entries and exits.  CPCE is also dedicated to promoting scholarly activities which underpin teaching and learning excellence.  In addition, CPCE is committed to serving our society through collaboration and partnership with professional bodies, business and community groups.  All members of the CPCE community are supported and offered the opportunity to develop and excel.

An important strategic direction of CPCE is the provision of the “2+2” articulation pathway leading to PolyU accredited honours degrees. Students completing HKCC’s 2-year Associate Degree or Higher Diploma programmes may articulate to SPEED’s 2-year top-up honours degree programmes leading to PolyU-SPEED awards.

At HKCC, quality sub-degree programmes are offered to meet the changing needs of society and prepare graduates for pursuing further studies or career development.  HKCC also provides all-round development opportunities to nurture creativity, active learning, critical thinking, self-confidence, a positive attitude, effective communication and a sense of responsibility.

At SPEED, quality articulation degree programmes are provided for fostering the career and professional development of aspiring individuals.  Besides, quality continuing education opportunities are offered to facilitate the professional development of experienced learners.  The School is devoted to fostering quality education through scholarly contributions and professional engagement.
