Personal profile
Dr Zerance Ng received his PhD degree from the Department of Mechanical Engineering of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) in 2001. During his postgraduate study period, Dr Ng served as research scholar in the U.S. Army Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratory. He is specialising in stress and failure analyses of laminated textile composite materials. Through the years, Dr Ng has involved in the supervision of postgraduates and all his MPhil and PhD students had successfully completed their research studies.
In the realm of funded research, Dr Ng has taken part, either as principal or co-investigator, in various research projects which received funding totaled more than HK$16 million. All these projects integrate mechanical engineering principles with textiles technologies. His latest research endeavor is the development of Flame-retardant Green Composite Materials and Sound Absorption Textiles.
