Dr Vincent Law is a Senior Lecturer and Associate Division Head of the Division of Social Sciences, Humanities and Design (SSHD) of the College of Professional and Continuing Education (CPCE) of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Vincent serves as Associate Division Head of SSHD since June 2024, Scheme Leader of Bachelor of Social Sciences (Honours) Scheme since September 2021, Programme Leader of Bachelor of Social Sciences (Honours) in Psychology between September 2023 and August 2024, and Deputy Director of the Centre for Ageing and Healthcare Management Research (CAHMR) under CPCE since June 2022. He teaches social sciences, health studies and management subjects, and is interested in qualitative research.
Vincent has served as the co-investigator (Co-I) of the following four externally funded research projects:
(1) "From Social and Environmental Accounting to Sustainability Accounting and Responsible Investment: Emerging Research Agendas", Inter-Instituional Development Scheme (IIDS), Research Grants Council (RGC), Hong Kong (Reference no.: UGC/IIDS24/B02/16, HK$674,874, February 2017 - May 2018);
(2) "Establishment of Centre for Ageing and Healthcare Management Research (CAHMR)", Institutional Development Scheme (IDS), Research Grants Council (RGC), Hong Kong (Reference no.: UGC/IDS24/18, HK$2,455,974, December 2018 - May 2022);
(3) "Effectiveness of telehealth in preventive care: A randomised controlled trial of tele-exercise programme involving elderly with possible sarcopenia or at risk of fall", Health and Medical Research Fund (HMRF) project by Research Fund Secretariat, Food and Health Bureau, HKSAR Government (Reference no.: 05200028, HK$1,258,820, July 2022 - June 2024); and
(4) "Towards a resilient and sustainable supply chain under Industry 4.0 perspective: lessons learned from the tourism industry for mitigating the pandemic disruptions", Faculty Developmenet Scheme (FDS), Research Grants Concil (RGC), Hong Kong (Reference no.: UGC/FDS24/B10/23, HK$394,205.00, January 2024 - December 2025).
Before joining CPCE, Vincent gained substantial administrative experience from business or educational organisations, as well as research experience in public policy from a local think tank. He is interested in research related to public policy, health care, sustainability, and Chinese philosophy. He edited five books on health-related topics (primary care, sustainable development goal (SDG) 3, ageing with dignity, healthy ageing after COVID-19 pandemic, and primary care in Hong Kong). He is also the sole author of five Chinese books in the book series titled "與古為新系列" (Innovation from Ancient Thoughts) which attempts to apply Chinese philosophy to the modern world.
