    Dr. Wience LAI is Associate Head and Senior Lecturer of the Division of Languages and Communication, College of Professional and Continuing Education, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. She is currently serving as the Deputy Director of the CPCE Centre for Pedagogic Research (CPCECPR).

    Teaching

    Dr Lai teaches Phonetics, Business English, Academic English, Oral Communication, Writing, and Grammar subjects.

    Research interests

    Her research interests lie mainly in phonetics and phonology, the relationship between speech production and perception, second language teaching, Writing across the Curriculum and more recently also on AI/VR-assisted language learning and teaching as well as teacher professional development.

    Personal profile

    In her spare time, Dr Lai loves travelling. She enjoys planning her own tour and has travelled to nearly 40 countries spread across Asia, Africa, North America, South America, Europe, and Australia.
