《〈大學〉的管治智慧》

本書是「與古為新系列」的第一部，「與古」是汲取前人經驗，「為新」是加以創新。《大學》是中國「四書」之一、儒家學說的入門經典，是古時培養管治人才的教材。《大學》有一套完整而清晰的思想體系，以「大學之道」、「三綱領」（明明德、親民、止於至善）及「八條目」（格物、致知、誠意、正心、修身、齊家、治國、平天下）為中心，倡議修身為本、君子之道及至善，蘊藏不少睿智。 管治(governance)於近年成為熱門課題，值得公共機構、私營機構及非政府組織的主管人員關注。本書扼要介紹管治概念的起源、定義、分類及應用，並專門介紹企業管治(corporate governance)及公共管治(public governance)的定義、理論及重要性。本書希望為現代管治者打開學習儒家思想的大門，或許部分讀者最終成為「儒商」(Confucian entrepreneurs)、「學術型管理者」(scholarly managers)或「學術型管治者」(scholarly governors)。 本書的特色是以現代淺白文字為《大學》全文註釋，以簡單易明的圖表解說其思想體系，結合西方現代管治的論理及概念，最後從《大學》提煉一些適用於現代社會的管治智慧，希望為讀者帶來嶄新的閱讀體驗。

Governance Wisdom of Daxue was published in July 2015. The key concepts of Daxue include “The Way of Great Learning”, the “Three Principles” (illustration of illustrious virtue, loving the people, and resting in the highest excellence), and the “Eight Items” (investigation of things, extension of knowledge, sincerity of thoughts, rectification of hearts, cultivation of the person, regulation of the family, governance of the state, and pacification of the world). The book provides full modern translation and annotations for Daxue, a brief review of western literature in governance, as well as governance wisdom extracted for application in the modern society.
