Abstract

The logistics industry, one of the main sources of carbon emission and energy consumption in Asia, plays a vital role in attaining sustainable development as well as reducing climate change impacts. Meanwhile, how the Paris Agreement would address the climate change impacts has continued to be a globally sought-after research area. Hitherto, climate change leadership in logistics industry remains under-researched since such relevant research studies were mainly focused on the engineering and physical aspects. As such, this chapter examines the key challenges of climate change leaders when coping with potential climate change impacts. In addition, the appropriate climate change leadership styles are explored. To this end, it provides two exemplary logistics firms in Asia to highlight the significance of climate change leadership that shapes climate adaptation actions through resilience management and interdisciplinary capabilities for green logistics management. An integrated climate change leadership development framework is articulated and its implications are discussed.
