Abstract

This qualitative research aims to identify the people’s changes in dietary behaviors and attitudes during the global coronavirus pandemic restrictions. Due to the fifth wave of local coronavirus outbreaks, the Hong Kong government has implemented and updated different policies and regulations on various social activities. This paper hopes to discover the internal forces that changed locals from relying on takeaways and home deliveries to home-cooking. With respondents from different socio-demographics, backgrounds, and perspectives, it is easier for the catering sectors and researchers in related fields to understand the importance and impacts of these behavioral changing psychosocial driving forces. In addition, this research study aims to inspire eateries and the catering sectors to develop different innovative business nodes and approaches in the coming future while considering what elements they should be cautious of from the consumers’ worries and concerns.
