Abstract

To summarise the essentials of practical health promotion to humans, the results from a successful health promotion should be considered a measuring outcome as a foundation for inventing a life-course concept on promoting community health. By applying a life-course perspective, the promotion of health from a target audience to a community can show a significant habitual change in a group in the population. It aims to achieve several elements for promoting health among humans, such as good communication, togetherness, commitment, care, and affection. Productive dynamic communications should be adopted for the best outcome of an applicable life-course perspective in health promotion. Practices of health promotion in Hong Kong are presented as a case example. The Life Course Preventive Care Plan was launched by the Hong Kong SAR Government in 2023 after the release of the Primary Healthcare Blueprint in 2022. Community health practitioners, working alongside doctors, Chinese medicine practitioners, dentists, nurses, dietitians, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, psychologists, and social workers, help build a foundation for health promotion in the community. Actions for health promotion for all should be boundary-free amongst populations, ethnicities, and professional disciplines. Such sustainable development in promoting health is recommended for scholars, health professionals, and society.
