title = "NETWORK ANALYSIS FOR GLOBAL SHIPPING NETWORK WITH ARCTIC SHIPPING",
abstract = "Arctic shipping routes (ASRs) are the emerging maritime pathways used by vessels to navigate through the Arctic region. With the accelerated climate change and hence the longer period for opening ASRs, it is essential and timely to study how to rationally incorporate ASRs into global shipping networks. It is particularly important when they are becoming feasible for container shipping. Therefore, this paper aims to analyse the impact of ASRs on global shipping networks. A 134-node container shipping network analysis with a multi-centrality assessment is implemented by incorporating ASRs into the network. The impact of ASRs is analysed by setting different scenarios, and the findings are obtained by comparing the results with the baseline based on the network without ASRs incorporated. It has made significant contributions to the investigation of the climate vulnerability of the corresponding seaports in the global container shipping network.",
